Scotland International Jasper Davidson has been picked up by the MCC as part of a 13-player squad for the tour to Zimbabwe. This tour marks the first time in the modern era that MCC will be touring the country.

The right arm pacer is set to be captained by Glamorgan batter Will Smale, who was a regular in Glamorgans’ One Day Cup this year. The tour will last a fortnight beginning on 6 October.

MCC is scheduled to play seven matches of varying formats.

The first three games are against Rhinos at the Kweke Sports Club with two T20s and one List A fixture.

The most notable fixture comes in the form of a three-day first class match between the MCC and Zimbabwe A at the old Hararians Sports Club.

The last three fixtures are in the form of T20s against Zimbabwe Academy at the Takashinga Cricket Club.

Rob Lynch, Director of Cricket & Operations at MCC said, “We are pleased to be touring a full member nation as part of our overseas programme this year, with a focus of this trip on elite performance. This is an exceptionally talented squad, with several players who are excelling in the domestic game and others that have the potential to do so.”
