Scotland won by 15 runs

Darcey Carter continued her brilliant run of performances in Thailand leading Scotland to victory by 15 runs with a magnificent unbeaten half century in Scotland's first match of the tournament against Uganda.

Captain Sarah Bryce won the toss and chose to bat first, opener Ailsa Lister departed off the first ball she faced, and Bryce followed shortly after with six runs.

Megan McColl’s 32 (22) and Carter’s unbeaten 54 (50) held the innings together with a vital 50-run stand as Scotland’s lower order struggled. Six batters fell for one run or less and three dismissals came via run outs, clear areas to address ahead of the next fixtures.

Carter carried the bat and the team through the innings helping her nation post 115-9 on the board.

Uganda captain Janet Mbabzi impressed with 3–17 in the first innings, but her impact in the second was short-lived as she was trapped in front on just the second ball, departing without scoring.

Esther Iloku 24 (33) and Immaculate Nakisuuyi 36 (42) combined for a 64-run stand, guiding Uganda to 64–1 after 11 overs and firmly in control.

Abtaha Maqsood struck twice in two overs with both set batters getting dismissed, Carter displayed her fielding prowess, taking two catches including the crucial catch of Nakisuuyi.

Priyanaz Chatterji and Chloe Abel saw out the game not allowing the Uganda batting lineup to get boundaries in the last five overs, which made them fall 15 runs short of the total.

Thailand -  117-7 20 Overs

(Natthakan Chantham 39 (36)  Nannapat Koncharoenkai 26 (18); Silver Siegers 2-11)

Netherlands - 94 all out 18.5 Overs

(Babbete de Leede 25 (16)  Robin Rijke 23 (25); Suleporn Laomi 2-11)

Thailand won by 23 runs

Hosts Thailand got off to the perfect start in the opening fixture for the ICC Emerging Nations Trophy, winning against the Netherlands by 23 runs.

Netherlands won the toss and chose to field first, dismissing Thailand openers, Nattaya Boochatam and Chanida Sutthiruang at 5 (7) and 7 (17) respectively.

With Thailand initially on the back foot, Natthakan Chantham 39 (36) and Nannapat Koncharoenkai 26 (18) shifted the momentum, scoring briskly and putting the pressure back on the Netherlands.

Silver Siegers impressed with the ball in the middle and death overs taking two wickets and conceding only 11 runs across her four overs. Phannita Maya scored a crucial 26* (21) to take Thailand to a competitive 117-7 at the end of 20 overs.

Thailand got off to the dream start in the second innings, sending back both Dutch openers Sterre Kalis 1 (6) and Phebe Molkenboer 0 (2) back to the dugout in the first two overs.

A brisk 25 (16) from captain Babette de Leede, alongside a steady 23 (25) from Robin Rijke, provided a platform, yet the Netherlands were unable to capitalise, losing wickets consistently and failing to form meaningful partnerships.

Caroline de Lange delivered an impressive all-round display, taking 2–25 and adding a resilient 21* (23). Despite her efforts, the Netherlands were bowled out for 94 in 18.5 overs, slipping to defeat in their opening match of the tournament.

The Netherlands will hope to bounce back as they face another tough challenge against UAE at 2:30 AM GMT tomorrow.
