One of the most prominent names in Dutch cricket, fast bowler Logan Van Beek wants to play in the T20 World Cup early next year. The star was unavailable for the T20 World Cup European Qualifiers in July 2025 owing to county cricket commitments with Leicestershire. The Netherlands had a stellar World Cup qualifying, winning three out of their four games and topping the group which secured their place in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 in India and Sri Lanka.

While, Van Beek went on lift the title with Leicestershire in English County Championship Division 2.

Speaking to KNCB, the 35-year-old veteran said that he felt a pang of guilt for his absence during the qualifiers. However, he was completely captivated by the tournament unfolding in The Hague, watching it intently on television. Van Beek reaffirmed his profound affection for representing the Netherlands, highlighting that his most cherished career memories were forged while playing in the orange jersey.

He commended the leadership of skipper Scott Edwards, alongside the experienced Max O’ Dowd and Paul Van Meekeren in their journey to make it to the T20 World Cup.

Van Beek last played for the Dutch in June 2024 at the T20 World Cup. With the experience of 178 T20 matches and 198 wickets under his belt, the Netherlands will be delighted to have Van Beek back among their ranks to face the best teams in the world in India and Sri Lanka.

The Netherlands missed his presence in their recently concluded three-match T20I tour to Bangladesh which ended 2-0 to the hosts, however, it gave the Dutch side plenty of valuable playing-time in the sub-continent.

While he has been a consistent feature in Leicestershire's successful season in 2025, taking 34 wickets in 13 innings in the county. Van Beek shone with the white ball too, finishing as the highest wicket-taker for his team claiming 22 wickets in 13 innings in T20 Blast.

He had a decent season with the bat too, contributing 387 runs in 17 innings at an average of 29.76 including a sensational 82* (103) against Derbyshire in June.

Van Beek was a vital part of Netherlands' historic triumph over South Africa in 2023 Men’s ODI World Cup held in India, where he claimed three wickets including Henrich Klassen and David Miller that tilted the tie in the Netherlands' favour. For his third wicket, he returned to get rid of Keshav Maharaj who was threatening to close in on the target until the Dutch pacer had him caught behind. His presence and experience especially in those conditions will be a massive boost for the Netherlands going into the marquee tournament.
