Bangladesh cruised to a 9-wicket on Monday against Netherlands in Sylhet, gaining an unassailable 2-0 lead in three match T20I series.

Netherlands batting crumbled against the trio of Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman and Nasum Ahmed as they were bundled out for 103. Taskin and Mustafizur claimed two wickets apiece while Nasum, who was brought in place of Rishad Hossain, took three wickets.

Bangladesh batters cantered to victory in 13.1 overs on the back of an unbeaten half-century of Tanzid Hasan.

The hosts were right on top of the Dutch batters in the first innings with Nasum providing a double blow in the third over of the match. Opener Max O’Dowd miscued a pull, followed by Teja Nidamanuru being caught at short third man off the next delivery.

Vikramajit Singh led a fightback with counterattacking 24 but fell to a short ball off Taskin Ahmed, triggering a collapse of sorts as Netherlands middle order fell cheaply, losing five wickets for 23 runs.

Coming in number 9 batter Aryan Dutt hacked his way to 30 off 24 helping the visitors past the 100-run mark. Eventually, the Dutch innings folded with 2.3 overs still remaining.

Netherlands could manage only Parvez Hossain Emon’s wicket after the batter was dismissed for 23. Tanzid and skipper Liton Das (18*) shared an unbeaten 64-run partnership to help Bangladesh clinch an emphatic victory.

The final T20I is scheduled on Wednesday and the Dutch will be hoping to salvage a consolation win while Bangladesh eye a clean sweep.
