Owen Gould receives his maiden call up to the senior men’s team as the Scotland side look to defend their CWCL2 crown. Gould captained Scotland in the 2024 U-19 World Cup and has represented Scotland development teams since. The 21-year-old provides competition in batting depth for the Scotland unit.
Chris McBride who missed is called up once again, despite not featuring in the T20 World Cup the batter will look to cease this opportunity and aim to become a mainstay in the side. The Scots added more youth with Mackenzie Jones returning to the squad for the ODIs but will be replaced in the T20I squad by Zainullah Ihsan, as Scotland retained their core from the team that travelled to India for the T20 World Cup.
Cricket Scotland has confirmed that some players were unavailable for selection due to county, club commitments or personal reasons.

Owen Dawkins, the head coach of the Scotland Senior Men’s side to Cricket Scotland
“We’re very much looking forward to getting back into CWCL2 action and challenging ourselves in 50-over cricket against Namibia and Oman. We’re also delighted Namibia have been able to accommodate us for a T20 series after the 50-over games have concluded.
“Our aim on this tour is to continue to play the positive brand of cricket that saw us give a good account of ourselves at the T20 World Cup and move ourselves forwards in the CWCL2 standings.
“The great challenge for us is to build upon the good things we did in India and progress those areas that we need to work on. I was particularly happy with how dynamic and athletic we were in the field during the T20 World Cup. This is an important area of how we want to play the game and I look forward to us taking this forward into the ODIs.
“There’s obviously a few changes in personnel from the World Cup, and it’s great to welcome Mackenzie Jones and Chris McBride back into the squad, as well as seeing Owen Gould receive his opportunity. Owen has come through our pathway system, progressed through the U19s and A-team cricket, and has shown good consistent form in league cricket in Scotland as well, and he deserves his chance now to stake a claim at full international level.
“We are excited about visiting such a beautiful country and in particular playing at the new stadium in Windhoek. It looks like a wonderful new facility, and I’ve heard lots of great things about it from those who played there during the ICC Men’s U19 World Cup in January.”
