Nepal, Oman and UAE have booked their tickets to the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026, securing three coveted spots available from the combined Asia/East Asia-Pacific Qualifier.

Nepal and Oman confirmed their qualification for the marquee event, scheduled to take place in India and Sri Lanka early next year, by guaranteeing top-three finishes in the tournament standings ahead of their Super Six stage encounter on Thursday.

Oman and Nepal entered the Super Six round winning both their matches in the group stage. Their qualification was mathematically confirmed following the United Arab Emirates' commanding 77-run victory over Samoa on Wednesday, which ensured that neither Nepal nor Oman could be overtaken for a top-three finish regardless of subsequent results. Nepal have won all four of their Super Six games so far while Oman saw their only defeat come against Nepal.

With only one remaining spot up for grabs, the race for T20 World Cup qualification had intensified dramatically.

Japan needed a win against UAE to survive in the competition and take it to the last day, however UAE bounced back after losing their first two games winning three on the trot bidding Sayonara to the last East Asia-Pacific team left in the tournament.

This qualification marks the third T20 World Cup appearance for Nepal, Oman and UAE. Nepal previously participated in the 2014 and 2024 editions, while Oman featured in the 2016 and 2024 tournaments. In the 2024 T20 World Cup, neither team advanced beyond the first round. UAE featured in the 2014 and 2022 editions, missing out on qualification at the 2024 world cup

UAE became the final team to secure its spot in the 20-team tournament. They join previously qualified teams India, Australia, England, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, USA, West Indies, Ireland, New Zealand, Pakistan, Canada, Italy, Netherlands, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Nepal and Oman.
