Lucas Hendrikse to step down as KNCB interim CEO from April 2026

Interim CEO of Netherlands cricket Lucas Hendrikse will step down from his role effective 1 April 2026. Lucas assumed the office since 15 December 2024.

As per the statement on The Royal Dutch Cricket Association (KNCB) board's website the cricketing body will aim to begin recruitment soon and aim to have a new CEO in place by early 2026 to allow Lucas to train his successor.

Lucas with a background in business economics and a former cricketer himself, he represented the Hague team domestically. During his tenure saw Netherlands men qualify for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 and the women's team qualify for the ICC Women's World Cup 2026 Global Qualifier to be held in Nepal in early 2026. The ICC Women's European Qualifiers were held in Rotterdam, which saw Ireland, Italy and Germany as other participating teams.

Recently the Netherlands toured Bangladesh for first-ever bilateral series in August - September 2025. The three-match T20I series was organised in Sylhet at short notice after Bangladesh and India had their series called off.
