Home

New Zealand all-rounder Mitchell Santner will lead the Edinburgh Castle Rockers in the inaugural edition of the ETPL, announced the franchise on Wednesday.

The left-arm spinner brings vast experience to the side, boasting a career T20 bowling economy of 7.19 across 256 innings. With the bat, Santner has also delivered on the biggest stage, averaging 40 in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 at a strike rate of 142.85.

Santner recently guided New Zealand to the finals of the T20 World Cup 2026, falling short to hosts India on 8 March 2026. In doing so, he became only the second New Zealand captain to lead the side to a final in the tournament’s history.

Santner produced a fighting 43 off 35 deliveries while also returning the most economical spell among New Zealand bowlers, who bowled more than one over, bowling four overs at an ER of 8.25 per over in a match where the opponents put up 255.
