Some players leave their mark with the bat. Others do it with the ball.

Kathryn Bryce did both.

The Scotland captain has been nominated for the ICC Women's Player of the Month award after a remarkable June that showcased everything she brings to her side. From guiding Scotland through a successful home series against Bangladesh to leading from the front on the ICC Women's T20 World Cup stage, Bryce once again proved why she has become one of the most complete all-rounders in the women's game. She is joined on the shortlist by India's Sree Charani and England's Danni Wyatt-Hodge.

For several years, Bryce has been the driving force behind Scotland's rise in international cricket. Calm under pressure, dependable in every phase of the game and capable of changing the course of a contest with bat or ball, she has developed into the player Scotland look towards when the biggest moments arrive. June was another chapter in that story.

Across seven T20 Internationals, Bryce amassed 178 runs at an impressive strike rate of 140.15 while also picking up 11 wickets at an economy of just 7.10. But numbers alone fail to capture her influence. Every contribution came at a time when Scotland needed it most, helping her side build confidence with a home T20I series victory over Bangladesh before taking that momentum into the Women's T20 World Cup.

When the spotlight shifted to the global stage, Bryce's impact only grew stronger.

Scotland's historic victory over Ireland will be remembered as one of the defining moments of their campaign, and fittingly, it was their captain who led the charge. A composed half-century laid the platform before Bryce returned with the ball to claim three crucial wickets, earning the Player of the Match award and guiding Scotland to their first-ever Women's T20 World Cup victory. It was the complete all-round performance that has become synonymous with her game.

That ability to influence every department is what separates Bryce from so many others. She offers stability at the top of the order, control with the ball and the composure required to lead a side through the demands of international cricket. Those qualities were on display throughout June as Scotland continued to establish themselves among the world's emerging forces in the women's game.

The competition for the monthly honour is certainly strong. India's Sree Charani enjoyed a breakthrough campaign, finishing the World Cup group stage as the tournament's leading wicket-taker with 14 wickets in six T20Is, while England opener Danni Wyatt-Hodge dazzled with the bat, highlighted by an unbeaten century against Sri Lanka and a commanding 89 against defending champions New Zealand.

Yet few players shaped the month quite like Kathryn Bryce. Whether building momentum before the World Cup or creating history once the tournament began, Scotland's captain delivered time and again. Her nomination is a fitting reward for a month defined by leadership, consistency and performances that once again underlined her importance to Scottish cricket.
