Scotland opener George Munsey has been officially reprimanded for breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct during Scotland’s final Group C fixture against Nepal at the Wankhede Stadium.

The charge relates to abuse of cricket equipment after Munsey flung his helmet onto the advertising boards while walking off at the end of the 10th over of Scotland’s innings. The incident occurred shortly after his dismissal in a match that ended Scotland’s ICC Men’s T20 World Cup campaign.

Munsey admitted the offence and accepted the sanction proposed by match referee David Gilbert, avoiding the need for a formal hearing. He has received an official reprimand and one demerit point, his first offence within a 24-month period.

Level 1 breaches carry a minimum penalty of a reprimand and can result in up to 50 per cent of a player’s match fee, along with one or two demerit points.
