All you need to know - ICC Women's World Cup T20 Qualifier 2026

Nepal is set to host the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier from January 18 2026 to 1 February 2026. The tournament is the final hurdle to qualify for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 set to be held in England and Wales and will consist of 12 teams.

Venue and Timings:

The matches will be played at the TU Cricket Ground and the Upper Mulpani Cricket Ground across two time slots, 9 AM local time (3 AM GMT) and 1 PM local time (7 AM GMT)

Participating Nations:

Scotland and Bangladesh were handed their place with automatic qualification through their performance in the 2024 edition of the T20 World Cup.

While the 10 teams for the Global Qualifiers made it through regional pathways across Asia, Africa, Europe, Americas, and East Asia-Pacific.

The regional qualifications saw:

Ireland and the Netherlands qualified from Europe.

The United States of America qualified from the Americas

Thailand and Nepal progressed through Asian Qualifiers.

From the African Qualifiers, Namibia and Zimbabwe made through.

Papua New Guinea qualified from the East-Asia Pacific region.

Format:

The ten teams will compete in two groups of five teams each in a round-robin format with the top three teams from each group advancing to the super six.

The super six will be played between 28 January and 1 February. The top three teams from group A and B will play three matches each against the teams from the other group, carrying forward their points from the initial group stage.

The top four teams will qualify for the marquee tournament and join the remaining eight teams to complete the set of final 12 teams for the T20 World Cup to be held in England and Wales in June 2026. 

Where to watch:

All fixtures played in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Qualifier 2026 will be streamed worldwide on ICC.TV with the exception of India where FanCode has acquired the rights to stream the tournament.
