The year 2025 was a memorable year for cricket in Scotland with many highs and lows, George Munsey and Darcey Carter put up incredible numbers with the bat, and the Scotland U-19 Women achieved the groundbreaking milestone of reaching the super six of the World Cup for the first time in their history.

The senior women’s team was awarded the ICC development award for Associate Performance of the year, the team had also secured their berth in the ICC Global Qualifier 2026 based on their performance in the previous World Cup which allowed them to skip the European Qualifiers, the team won the Quad cup and had strong performances in the ICC Emerging Nations Trophy falling just short of the title.
The senior men’s team most notably failed to qualify for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 but found themselves in a promising position in the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 after a strong series win in Canada, the Scots also won a historic T20I home tri-series against the Netherlands and Nepal.

The U-19 Men’s team won a thrilling final in Dundee against the Netherlands in the European Qualifier final to secure their berth at the marquee U-19 World Cup set to take place in Zimbabwe this month.

The year 2026 is shaping up to be a pivotal year for Cricket in Scotland, with the senior men’s side set to host UAE and Canada in the CWC League 2 looking to secure their pathway for the 2027 Senior Men’s Cricket World Cup qualifier.
The U-19 men’s side will aim to put up a strong performance and make a statement at the 2026 World Cup as they find themselves in the very competitive Group C with Pakistan, England and the hosts, Zimbabwe.
The senior women’s team will look to continue their run of form in Nepal in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifier 2026, which is set to begin on 18th January. Scotland find themselves in Group B with the Netherlands, Thailand, Nepal and Zimbabwe.
Looking to the future, Cricket Scotland will also aim to host their first women’s international series on home soil since 2022 in preparation for the T20 World Cup. With the Scottish Parliament general election set to take place in 2026, the board reiterated it's determination to to work with the government and sporting agencies of the country towards developing facilities and improving infrastructure as they prepare to co-host the Senior Men’s T20 World Cup in 2030.
