Italy registered their first win in T20Is against a full member nation by winning a thriller against Ireland.
Although Paul Stirling's men had already won the series going into the third T20I, however, it was Italy's great upset that grabbed the headlines.
Heading into the last over, Italy needed 16 runs to win and Grant Stewart 33* (19) smashed three sixes in the first three balls of the over to secure the victory.
This win marks a statement of intent for Italy ahead of their first World Cup and will hope to send shockwaves through the cricketing world with more such results then.
Italy will now head to India where they will play warm-up games heading into the marquee tournament and will hope to build upon this result.
Ireland are set to play a two match series against UAE before travelling to Sri Lanka, where they are pencilled in to play all four group games of their T20 World Cup campaign.
