The European T20 Premier League (ETPL) announced the first three confirmed franchises for the inaugural season for the ETPL with Amsterdam Flames, Edinburgh Castle Rockers and Irish Wolves.
After years of speculation of what a franchise T20 league in Europe would look like and the talent that would participate, only hours after the unveiling, as the franchises wasted no time in announcing some of the most sought after global stars and talent.
As per the regulations set for the league, each franchise is allowed to sign up to six players before the auctions.
Amsterdam Flames were the most active in the pre-signing window with four confirmed players so far. Steve Waugh maintained the core with Australian talent along with the first European signing of the league.

Mitchell Marsh: The captain for the Australian T20I team will now lead Amsterdam.
Steven Smith: Widely regarded as one of the best cricketers of this generation.
Scott Edwards: The captain of the Netherlands is set to represent the capital.
Tim David: One of the most destructive T20 finishers.
Irish Wolves
Glenn Maxwell: The co-owner for the franchise and the captain, nicknamed “The Big Show”, Maxwell is a bonafide white ball legend who has played and excelled in T20s across the planet and will look to build upon his legacy with Belfast franchise.
Edinburgh Castle Rockers
Mitchell Santner: The skipper for New Zealand, the all-rounder has firmly established himself as one of the best in the world and is the first marquee signing for the Edinburgh based franchise.
The world-class players that have already pledged commitment to participate in the competition shows the intent of the ETPL to establish itself.
