Skipper Sarah Bryce won the toss and chose to bat. In-form opener Darcey Carter repaid the call by carrying her bat for a superb 76 off 62. Ellen Watson added a steady 23 (31) and Priyanaz Chatterji’s quickfire 19 (11) lifted Scotland to 153/5 in 20 overs.

The Scottish bowlers came under pressure as Tanzania moved to 131/4 after 17 overs, needing just 22 from 18 balls with six wickets in hand. Carter then delivered a game-changing final over, allowing only two runs and taking two wickets to swing momentum back Scotland’s way.

The last three overs produced four wickets for just 17 runs, sealing a dramatic win and valuable points.

The victory puts Scotland on top of the table as the only unbeaten side in the ICC Emerging Nations Trophy after two games each, showcasing the fierce competition among associate nations.

Netherlands won by 4 wickets

The Netherlands opened their account in the ICC Women’s Emerging Nations Trophy with a convincing four-wicket win over UAE.

After winning the toss and choosing to field, their bowlers dominated, dismantling the UAE lineup with disciplined spells and regular breakthroughs.

Heena Hotchandani’s fighting 30 off 39 balls was the lone standout in an innings to forget for the UAE.

The Netherlands’ bowling effort was well-balanced, with Frederique Overdijk, Robine Rijke, Caroline de Lange and Iris Zwilling each taking two wickets to bowl UAE out for 93.

In response, the Dutch made a strong start with a 55-run opening stand. Sterre Kalis anchored the chase with a crucial 40 off 43, though there was a brief scare when skipper Babette de Leede fell first ball.

Despite losing four more wickets, the Netherlands remained in control. UAE’s 13 extras proved costly as the chase was wrapped up in 18.5 overs.
