Cricket Scotland has updated its Hall of Fame structure and announced four new inductees for 2025. The revamped Hall of Fame Appointment Panel, which advises the Board and is chaired by President Omar Henry, now includes Ricky Bawa, Kari Carswell, William Dick, Jack Ker, Sanjay Patel, and Bruce Patterson, with Bawa, Carswell and Patel replacing Ryan Watson and Neil Leitch.
The four 2025 Hall of Fame nominees are Kari Carswell, Neil McCallum, George Reifer and Fraser Watts.
Carswell, Scotland Women’s cap number 1, she enjoyed an 18-season international career as a key all-rounder, played in multiple European Championships and World Cup Qualifiers, and later moved into coaching roles in Scotland, New Zealand and England before returning as National Pathways Coach and Scotland Women U19 Head Coach, leading them to the Super 8s at the 2025 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.
McCallum earned 135 caps and 2,904 runs for Scotland, renowned for rescuing innings under pressure, including a match-winning ODI hundred against Ireland in Nairobi and an unbeaten 104 in the 2010 Intercontinental Cup final, while also enjoying a decorated club career with Watsonian and Grange.
Reifer, a Barbadian-born batter and medium pacer, settled in Scotland after league stints, scored 1763 runs at an average of just under 42 and took 34 wickets in 53 matches for his adopted country, becoming one of its most reliable performers of the 1990s.
Watts represented Scotland over 200 times, evolving from a seam bowler to an attacking top-order batter and outstanding fielder, scoring ODI, first-class and List A centuries. A versatile batter who occupied almost every position but No.10, before making the opening spot his own he starred at Scotland's inaugural World Cup in the 2007 T20 World Cup match against Pakistan and had a highly successful club career with Carlton and Greenock.
Omar Henry, Cricket Scotland President, said:
“On behalf of Cricket Scotland and the Appointment Panel, I would like to congratulate each of the new inductees on their entry into the Cricket Scotland Hall of Fame. Their contribution to Scottish cricket has clearly made an enormous impact in the growth of the game, and to be recognised in this way is a huge honour.
“It is my wish that the new Hall of Fame inductees continue to contribute and play a significant role in the future of Scottish cricket. Together as a community, we are stronger and able to achieve more.
“I am also very pleased to welcome our new Appointment Panel members, who all bring a wealth of knowledge and perspective to this group. I am excited about working with them and utilising their support and input, as we strive to grow the profile of the Hall of Fame and continue to honour those who have given great service to the game of cricket in Scotland.”
