India and Sri Lanka are set to host the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup from 7 February 2026 to 8 March 2026. The marquee tournament consists of 20 teams from across the globe competing for the ultimate prize.
Venue and Timings:
The matches will be played across five venues in India (Kolkata, Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai and Ahmedabad) and three in Sri Lanka (SSC Colombo, Kandy and Premadasa Colombo) across three time slots, 11 AM lST, 3 PM lST and 7 PM IST.
Participating Nations:
India and Sri Lanka made it through being the host, while Afghanistan, Australia, England, South Africa, USA and West Indies made it through their performance in the last World Cup. Bangladesh was qualified as well, however, in late January citing security concerns, pulled out of the tournament.
Ireland, New Zealand, Pakistan were handed their place with automatic qualification through their ICC Men’s T20I rankings. Scotland became the fourth team to qualify through ranking replacing Bangladesh due to venue disagreements and security concerns with the ICC.
The European Qualifiers saw the Netherlands top the group and a historical campaign by Italy to secure their maiden qualification.

Canada qualifed from the Americas
UAE, Oman and Nepal progressed through Asian and East-Asia Pacific region Qualifiers.
From the African Qualifiers, Namibia and Zimbabwe made it through.
Format:
The format remains the same as the 2024 edition with 20 teams split into four groups with five teams each, with the top two from each group progressing to the Super 8, which are two groups of four, the top two of Group A and B in the Super 8 stage will qualify for the semi final, followed by the finale.

Fans in the United Kingdom and Ireland can follow the action on Sky Sports Cricket and Sky Sports Main Event, with digital streaming available on NOW.
With Italy participating in their first ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, Sky Italia will be covering all Italy matches, the semi-finals and the final live on their platforms.
Dutch broadcaster NOS will stream all Netherlands matches live for cricket fans in the country.
